A Nice Dinner Out

Yesterday, Tom and Mary decided to go to a restaurant. They were very hungry because they did not eat lunch. They chose a small, cozy Italian restaurant in the city center.

Arriving at the Restaurant

When they entered, a waiter greeted them with a smile.

“Good evening. Do you have a reservation?” he asked.

“No, we don’t,” Tom replied.

“That is no problem. Please, follow me,” the waiter said. He took them to a nice table near the window.

Ordering Food

The waiter gave them the menu. Tom and Mary looked at the options. There were many types of pasta, pizza, and salads.

A few minutes later, the waiter came back. “Are you ready to order?”

“Yes,” Mary said. “For an appetizer, I would like the tomato soup. For the main course, I want the grilled chicken with vegetables.”

Tom said, “I will have the spaghetti Bolognese, please.”

“And would you like anything to drink?” the waiter asked.

“Just a bottle of water, please,” Tom replied.

During the Meal

The food arrived quickly. It was hot and smelled delicious.

“How is your meal?” the waiter asked after a while.

“It is delicious, thank you!” Mary said.

They enjoyed their dinner and talked about their day. The restaurant was quiet and the music was soft.

Dessert and the Bill

After they finished their main meal, the waiter asked, “Would you like to see the dessert menu?”

“Yes, please,” Mary said. They decided to share a piece of chocolate cake. It was very sweet.

Finally, Tom raised his hand to catch the waiter’s attention. “Can we have the bill, please?”

The waiter brought the check. Tom paid with his credit card. He also left a tip on the table because the service was excellent.

“Thank you! Have a great night,” the waiter said.

Tom and Mary walked home feeling very happy and full.
