The Train Trip: A Simple English Story for Beginners

Sarah arrives at the large train station in the morning. She carries a small blue suitcase in her hand. She walks to the ticket office to buy a ticket. The clerk asks her for the destination and the time. Sarah says she wants to go to the city of London. She pays for her ticket and puts it in her pocket. She looks at the big screen to find her platform number.

Sarah walks to platform number five to wait for her train. Many people are standing on the platform with their bags. Soon, the loud train arrives at the station and stops. The doors open and Sarah steps onto the train carefully. She looks for her seat number near the window. She puts her suitcase in the overhead rack above her head. Sarah sits down and feels very excited for her journey.

The train begins to move slowly away from the station. Sarah looks out of the window at the green trees and houses. A ticket collector walks down the aisle and asks for tickets. Sarah shows her ticket and the man smiles at her. He says the train will arrive in one hour. Sarah opens a book and starts to read a story. The train is very quiet and the seats are comfortable.

After some time, the train slows down as it nears the city. An announcement says the train is arriving at the final station. Sarah stands up and takes her suitcase from the rack. She walks to the door and waits for the train to stop. She steps onto the platform and breathes the fresh air. Sarah follows the signs to the exit of the station. She is very happy to be in London for her holiday.

تصل “سارة” إلى محطة القطار الكبيرة في الصباح، وهي تحمل حقيبة سفر زرقاء صغيرة في يدها. تتوجه إلى مكتب التذاكر لشراء تذكرة. يسألها الموظف عن وجهتها والوقت، فتقول سارة إنها تريد الذهاب إلى مدينة لندن. تدفع ثمن تذكرتها وتضعها في جيبها، ثم تنظر إلى الشاشة الكبيرة لتجد رقم الرصيف الخاص بها.

تمشي سارة إلى الرصيف رقم خمسة لتنتظر قطارها. يقف الكثير من الناس على الرصيف ومعهم حقائبهم. وسرعان ما يصل القطار الصاخب إلى المحطة ويتوقف. تُفتح الأبواب وتصعد سارة إلى القطار بحذر. تبحث عن رقم مقعدها بجانب النافذة، وتضع حقيبتها في الرف العلوي فوق رأسها. تجلس سارة وتشعر بحماس شديد لرحلتها.

يبدأ القطار بالتحرك ببطء بعيداً عن المحطة. تنظر سارة من النافذة إلى الأشجار الخضراء والمنازل. يمر جامع التذاكر عبر الممر ويطلب التذاكر، فتُظهر سارة تذكرتها ويبتسم الرجل لها. يخبرنا أن القطار سيصل خلال ساعة واحدة. تفتح سارة كتاباً وتبدأ في قراءة قصة. القطار هادئ جداً والمقاعد مريحة.

بعد مرور بعض الوقت، يتباطأ القطار مع اقترابه من المدينة. يعلن مكبر الصوت أن القطار يقترب من المحطة الأخيرة. تقف سارة وتأخذ حقيبتها من الرف، ثم تمشي إلى الباب وتنتظر توقف القطار. تنزل إلى الرصيف وتستنشق الهواء النقي، ثم تتبع اللوحات الإرشادية نحو مخرج المحطة. إنها سعيدة جداً بوجودها في لندن من أجل عطلتها.
